SOS HG Sheikh Secondary School wins top international sustainability award – School receives $100,000 to fund clean energy installations and launch educational workshops.
Regulations require a company conducting certain production processes which involve the direct emission of greenhouses gases to prepare, submit, implement a pollution prevention plan in respect of greenhouse gases.
The bursary students – Anver Adams, Janethon de Klerk, Kyle Henderson, Cedwill Abdol and Bradley Bosman – all performed well in mathematics and physical science in their final exams.
Energy-guzzling appliances: Geysers and heaters are the most significant users of energy; and dishwashers, stoves and lights can also contribute significantly to household energy consumption.
The panels are installed in four arrays giving an output of 55KW each. This feeds into two 100KW inverters in parallel, tied to the grid and the pay-back period is estimated at five to six years.
